FORT LAUDERDALE – Agents got a double dose of Celebrity Cruises on the Jet3 line from the Cruise Line, with visits to Celebrity Equinox at PortMiami and the famous Celebrity Edge at Port Everglades.
Renting a First Air 737-400, the Celebrity Cruises Canada sales and marketing team, 122 travel agents and commercial travel media recently headed south of Fort Lauderdale for the third edition of the JetSet family.
"We have the opportunity to show our boats in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere," explained Ken Brooks, Director of Market Sales at Celebrity Cruises Canada. "We can give agents the ability to feel and touch the product during a weekend, since many do not have time to sail with us in a seven-day seminar at sea."
Celebrity Equinox offers many unexpected "green" views on board, like a tree growing in the center of the ship and the surprise of the upper deck: a wide lawn to enjoy the clouds or a cocktail at sunset. Additional benefits include Canyon Ranch at the Sea Fitness and Spa, 40 beers on tap at Craft Social, the Den 7 interactive entertainment area with Xbox game rooms, performances at the American Ballet Theater and the Movable Feast dining experience in June with the chefs Michelle Bernstein and Buddy Valastro.
Gabriel Martinez, International Tourism Sales for Greater Fort Lauderdale welcomed attendees to JetSet Fam3, happy to show their part of Florida. "We are always excited to welcome Canadians to sunny Greater Fort Lauderdale," said Martinez. "More and more visitors are taking advantage of our many benefits and we welcome those who will experience the new cruise terminal for Celebrity Edge in Port Everglades."
Celebrity Cruises invested US $ 120 million for the T25 of Celebrity Edge, which offers an optimized experience for cruise passengers to navigate within a contemporary style terminal with a decoration that is usually seen in boutique hotels.
The star attraction of the weekend was Celebrity Edge, the "revolution" leader of Celebrity Cruises (a modernization of the fleet of US $ 500 million), which offers services that push the highest level within the luxury cruise market. "Being on Celebrity Edge is about bragging rights," explained Brenda Yeomans, Strategic Sales and Marketing Manager for Celebrity Cruises Canada. "Hipster guests who want champagne will be at home on Edge."
The colorful and contemporary design of the ship is due to a team of interior designers who were novices on luxury cruises, Yeomans explained. The work was overseen by Celebrity Cruises Edge Ambassador, designer Nate Berkus. Celebrity Edge has cabins with Infinite Veranda, which allows guests at the touch of a button to have 175 square feet open to the sea.
Using the latest technology, passengers can download the Edge Access Tour application, available for iPhone and Google Pixel phones, which offers details of the ship, the possibility of making reservations for restaurants and spa, communicate with on-board customer service and control their Stateroom from access door to lighting, no need for WiFi. It is important to note that guests of the suite receive complimentary WiFi on board the Edge.
Another difference marked in Celebrity Edge is the magic carpet: a floating cantilevered orange platform that can go up and down 13 stories above the sea. This area, the size of a tennis court, can accommodate 100 people to enjoy the bar, sunbathe or listen to live music. Edge's other benefits include five complimentary restaurants, seven specialty restaurants, 11 bars and lounges and Eden, a lush multi-purpose space, offering quick casual dining, bar / lounge, rest areas with live walls and a dining area that also It is a space for shows, offering an interactive and theatrical experience.
Designed by British designer Kelly Hoppen, The Retreat is exclusive for suite guests, with spacious interior and exterior lounges, cabanas, pool, jacuzzi and bar areas spread over two Celebrity Edge decks, and access to an excellent dinner at Luminae at The Retreat. El Retiro also includes a second category of new suite on this ship, Edge Villas. Found within The Retreat, there are six 950-square-foot, two-story suites that include one bedroom, two bathrooms, private patio, and plunge pool.
